About the Product

  • Citrus is the genus that includes mandarins. They are thought to have originated in ancient China, thus their name.
  • The sweet, juicy segments inside are protected by a deep-orange, leathery skin.
  • Mandarins grow on small to medium-sized citrus trees that blossom. They mature from a deep green to a distinctive orange color and reach a width of around 1.6–3 inches (4–8 cm) as they ripen.
  • Despite their orange exteriors, mandarins are not the same species of citrus as oranges, which belong to the Citrus sinensis family.
  • Mandarins, unlike oranges, are not round. Rather, they're oblong, with a flattened top and bottom, like a spherical. They're also less difficult to peel.

Health Benefits Of Eating Mandarin Oranges

  • Citrus fruits like tangerines and mandarins contain chemicals called beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin, which give them their deep orange color.
  • They are antioxidants that may lower your risk of acquiring some cancers.
  • Mandarin oranges are also high in vitamin C, which is necessary for immune system function, as well as maintaining healthy skin and wound healing.
  • Vitamin C from food is more readily absorbed by the body than the mega-dose of vitamin C found in supplements.
  • Mandarins are a low-cholesterol snack that can help you remain on track with your diet and stay healthy. They include soluble fiber, which might help you feel fuller for longer after eating.
  • Mandarin oranges also contain calcium and magnesium, in addition to potassium. Bone mineral density is higher in those who consume more of these three minerals in their diet. That means their bones are more resistant to breaking.

Storage and Uses

  • Oranges should be stored in refrigerators
  • Prefer to put them in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator to prevent degeneration of the fruit.
  • You can also put them in a bag, but don’t seal them.
  • Before you eat the oranges, take them out and let them come to room temperature
  • Valencia oranges are most typically used for their juice, but they can also be consumed raw or fried.
  • Marinades, syrups, vinaigrettes, cocktails, custards, and sauces for cooked meat meals can all benefit from the juice
